Hi everyone! We’ve officially finished week two in Nicaragua!

This week was sort of a half-week of ministry. We did our normal ministry Monday-Wednesday and then on Thursday our team started a 3 day fast. This fast was so sweet. It was the first time I have ever done a fast of this length so it was definitely a learning experience.

Something cool I’ve been learning through ministry (specifically our prayer walks/house visits) is how open all of the local people are to have total strangers (us) in their homes. We will go into people’s homes and they will give up their seats for us and just listen to us talk. Never once have we had someone deny prayer from us, which is so sweet.

Another thing our entire team has been learning is how different the spiritual warfare is here vs. in the US. The enemy works in different ways based on different circumstances. For example, there is such a need here and there is so much poverty.. so the enemy takes advantage of that and there is many people who struggle with sickness and to just meet basic needs. But, in the US it is different. We have all of our needs met, so the enemy likes to sneak in anxiety and depression and division. I think this is another reason why they are so open to having our team come into their homes and pray with them here, they are desperate (but we have “everything”).

I am so excited for how much more I am going to learn, we still have a whole other country left! Thank you for following along!

some prayer requests:

  • continued learning/understanding of spanish!
  • good health for the team!
  • presentness in the team (focused on the now)!
