(Ella and I got locked in the bathroom while we were cleaning)

(we took on Tikal for our adventure day last weekend!)

(The Kiddos here!!!!)

I can’t believe we only have a couple of weeks left in Guatemala! I’ve loved it here and I am so excited to come back one day. The Lord has been so sweet to me. What a friend we have in Jesus!

Ministry in Guatemala has been a blast. I love being with the kids.. they bring such a different energy and it’s so life giving. We started the week by going to a physical education day for special needs kids in Guatemala.. the kids are so joyful and it was so fun to be able to serve this group and organization. This week for ministry I also got to prepare a skit with my team and perform it for the kiddos (we did the good samaritan and I played the half-dead Jew on the side of the road). I also got to help out with soccer practice and lead a devo for the boys in that group (I spoke about the story of Jesus washing the disciples feet).

We also did house visits this week. We got to visit the homes of students and it was so fun to get to know their families and spread the love of Jesus with them. One specific family we got to meet was the family of a young girl name Sandy (everyone who meets Sandy loves her, she’s a blast). We got to talk to her Grandma and get to know her (and Sandy’s) story even more. Her Grandma told us about how she grew up catholic but she noticed that she would always come out the same as she went in to church. She wasn’t growing deeper in her faith and her relationship with Jesus. She eventually left the catholic church and began pursuing Jesus and going to a different church. I could just feel the presence of the Lord in that house and through this Grandma (I could’ve stayed there for hours and just talked and listened to her!). She is still praying that her husband and grandson would begin pursuing the Lord. I got to encourage her that her faith is going to be an example to them and to keep pursuing Him.

We ended the week by spending the weekend on the Isla de Flores for our adventure day. It is so relaxing to have a change of pace and to relax with my team and spend intentional time with Lord.

Something I have been learning these past  few weeks (maybe even month?) is how the Lord calls me to be a servant & be generous. The Lord has been reminding me to build up heavenly treasures. I was reading in Luke 12 this morning and these are some of the verses that stuck out to me about this topic:

Luke 12:15~ “And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

Luke 12:21~ “So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

Luke 12:30-34~ “For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you. “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

God has also been placing dreams on my heart for home and I am so excited to share about those and see them come to fruition!!

Thank you for reading the blog this week! I still can’t believe i’m going to be home in 3 weeks, time has flown by!

prayer requests:

  • Team El Fuego at prayer mountain
  • Peace + rest + energy over the team
  • focus on the present over the team, especially as we get so close to being done!
